Sponsorship is an essential part of the conference.

We believe sponsorship should be much, much more than ‘your logo here’. We work with our sponsors to find out what works for them, and build it into the conference programme wherever we can.

Our Sponsors

National Grid - Platinum

National Grid is delighted to once again to sponsor the Landscapes for Life conference in 2025.

2025 marks the tenth anniversary of the Landscape Enhancement Initiative (LEI), which forms an important part of National Grid’s wider Visual Impact Provision (VIP) project. Both make use of the same provision made by our regulator Ofgem.

Championed by our stakeholders, VIP and LEI are focused on reducing the impact of our existing electricity transmission infrastructure in National Landscapes and National Parks in England and Wales.

Over the last decade, the LEI project has made a positive contribution to natural beauty, wildlife and biodiversity, cultural heritage and public enjoyment, providing over £12.4m of grant funding for localised visual improvement projects.

From restoring historic medieval boundaries in the High Weald and removing invasive species in Eryri and the Clwydian Range & Dee Valley, to targeted hedgerow conservation in the Blackdown Hills and improving access at RSPB Minsmere in the Suffolk Coast & Heaths, LEI funding is making a real difference in our most precious landscapes.

In this anniversary year, we’re keen to highlight some of these great projects that have been delivered by National Landscapes, National Parks and their partners over the past decade through the LEI as we encourage new applications in future windows. We will be placing particular emphasis on the role of partnerships and how the impacts of LEI can be extended through collaborative working. Come and talk to us to find out more.

South Western Railway - Gold

Operating over 1,500 services each weekday, South Western Railway provides commuter, regional and long distance services to customers in South West London, the southern counties of England and the Isle of Wight.

As well as commuters and business travellers, SWR transports leisure travellers across the region, to many tourist and heritage sites, and the numerous major sporting and social events that take place along the route every year.

Our train services provide connections to many National Landscapes, from the Surrey Hills and North Wessex Downs to Cranborne Chase and Dorset. We are pleased to welcome you to Winchester for this important conference.

The conference

Each year the National Landscapes Association produces a high-profile national conference which draws together over 200 influential landscape specialists to discuss topics pertinent to the purposes of the National Landscape designation, namely to:

  • Conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the landscape

  • Meet the need for quiet enjoyment of the countryside

  • Have regard for the interests of those who live and work there.
